High-current flexible cable that replaces bus duct

From 200 A to 6,300 A, YSN sizes and supplies flexible cable, busbar and busway for power-distribution routes. Send your load, voltage and route for a technical selection and quotation, typically within one working day.

  • IP68 protection
  • 105 °C conductor
  • 200 – 6,300 A
  • AC and DC

Why flexible cable

Four reasons projects switch from bus duct and multi-splicing cable

Higher current in less copper

High-purity copper conductors with a high current density carry the same load as multi-splicing cable assemblies while using less copper and fewer joints.

Fast to install, easy to re-route

Flexible and light enough for one-piece long runs. Cables can be cut and re-terminated on site, and branches can be added without reworking the whole route.

Built for hard environments

IP68 protection, moisture and water resistance, full insulation and sheath coverage, and no induced voltage on the outer sheath.

Cooler running, longer life

Good heat dissipation keeps the temperature rise low, which means less line loss and a smaller energy bill than conventional bus duct.

Flagship product

One cable instead of a bus duct run

The high-current flexible cable is a laminated copper conductor with insulation, armour and an outdoor-grade sheath. It is delivered in one piece for a whole route, cut and re-terminated on site, and branched with a T-connector while the main circuit stays live.

  • More than 33% overload capacity at 40 °C ambient, against about 15% for conventional bus duct
  • Consistent resistance along the run, so phases share current evenly and run cooler
  • Up to 20% lower energy consumption than a dense bus duct of the same duty
  • Bend radius from 200 mm, laid in trench, conduit, tray or direct burial

How it works

From site condition to shipment in four steps

  1. 1

    Tell us the load

Current, voltage, route length, laying method and site conditions — a photo or drawing is enough to start.

  2. 2

    Get a technical proposal

We size the conductor, connectors and accessories, and send a quotation with drawings for confirmation.

  3. 3

    Production and inspection

Cables are produced to order on our partner lines and inspected before packing.

  4. 4

    Export packing and documents

Drum or coil packing suitable for sea freight, with commercial invoice, packing list and certificate of origin.

FAQ

Questions buyers ask before the first order

Is this the same product as bus duct?

No. Bus duct is a rigid, factory-assembled enclosure. Our flexible cable is a laminated conductor with insulation and a sheath, supplied on a drum, cut and terminated on site. It does the same job on high-current routes, but it can be reworked and it does not need the same installation space.

How do I know which size to order?

Send us the load in amps or kVA, the voltage, the route length, the laying method and the ambient temperature. We will select the conductor, confirm the voltage drop and short-circuit rating, and send a drawing for approval before production.

What is the lead time?

Standard sizes ship in two to four weeks after drawing approval, depending on quantity and sheath requirements. Air and sea options are both available, and we will quote the freight with the goods.

How is the cable packed for export?

Long runs go on steel or wooden drums, shorter lengths in coils with protective wrapping. Drums are braced for sea freight and marked to your instruction. Each shipment includes the commercial invoice, packing list, test data and, where applicable, a certificate of origin.

Can you supply from our drawing?

Yes. Bend radius, hole pattern, conductor profile, core arrangement, sheath colour and marking can all be made to your drawing. Send the file with your enquiry and we will confirm feasibility and tooling before the order.

Send us the load and the route

Tell us the current, voltage, route length and laying method. You will have a specification, a drawing and a price within one working day.
